Our Pre-School was started by a local group of mums in 1981, who were seeking a place to provide fun and learning for children in the area and we have been in continuous operation ever since. Way back then and until quite recently we met in the Village Hall, but in June 2010, after three years of planning applications, we finally moved to our own purpose-built premises, situated conveniently next to the Primary School. The location affords us a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a close relationship with the School.
Striking the right balance
We offer a spacious and stimulating environment for children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 5 years on either a full-time or part-time basis. We are registered with Suffolk County Council to provide Pre-School education and care for children of 3 and 4 years of age and are registered with Ofsted to take 26 children per session. The ratios required by Ofsted are 1 adult to 8 children aged 3 and 4 years, or 1 adult to 4 children aged 2 years. However we do all we can to increase the number of adults beyond these requirements as we believe when adults support children’s play, their learning is enhanced.

The pre-school is led and managed by an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic manager who strives to achieve outstanding levels of care and education for all children attending the group. The capacity to improve further is excellent”
